Attendance

Intermediate6 min read

Track daily work hours with clock-in/clock-out, monitor your attendance rate, review monthly insights, and manage team attendance from the admin dashboard.

Key concepts

  • Clock In / Clock Out: Start and end your work session. You can have multiple sessions per day (e.g., clock out for lunch, then clock back in).
  • Attendance Status: The system automatically assigns a status based on your clock-in time -- Present, Late, Absent, Early Leave, Late & Early, On Leave, or Half Day.
  • Net Hours: Total hours worked minus break time.
  • Overtime: Hours worked beyond the standard schedule, calculated automatically based on your attendance policy.
  • Anomaly: A flagged irregularity in your attendance (e.g., missing clock-out, unusually short hours). You can provide a reason to resolve it.
  • Schedule Override: A request to temporarily change your work schedule (e.g., different start/end times, work mode change).
  • Attendance Policy: Company-wide settings that define start/end times, grace periods for lateness, auto clock-out time, and more.

Tips & best practices

  • Clock in as soon as you start working -- late arrivals are flagged automatically based on your company's grace period.
  • If you forget to clock out, the system may auto-clock you out at the configured time. Resolve any resulting anomalies by providing a reason.
  • Use multiple sessions if you take a lunch break -- clock out when you leave and clock back in when you return. This ensures accurate net hours.
  • Check the Insights page monthly to track your attendance rate, utilization, and identify patterns.
  • Managers should review the Team dashboard regularly to approve pending attendance changes and schedule overrides.
  • Export the attendance report as CSV for payroll processing or compliance documentation.
  • Submit schedule overrides in advance so your admin has time to review and approve.
